With the ever declining sales numbers in the music industry, executives are scrambling to find ways to motivate people to buy albums again. In this internet age it seems anyone (including grandma and grandpa) can find albums and download them without having to pay a cent. Peer to Peer programs, torrents and file sharing companies such as Megaupload have all contributed to the rapid decline in sales. For this reason record labels are starting to sign more and more actors as recording artists with the goal of capitalizing on their established fame to ensure record sales. Enter Hayden Panettiere, star of the hit television drama “Heroes”. Panettiere is a certified star with millions of fans all over the world because of the global success of the show. Sometimes this formula doesnt work. Paris Hilton’s recording effort was not well received here in the states at all but the album couldn’t stay on the shelves in Japan. Panettiere may not want to quit her acting gig just yet.
