This is sad:
Police arrested a Cloverdale mother after her two young children tested positive for methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Child Protective Services first started investigating Amy Marie Reed last September. At that time she was pregnant with her second child.
CPS took custody of her first child because Reed and the toddler tested positive for drugs. She regained custody after giving birth in February, but now the second child has tested positive for cocaine.
Police say Reed’s one-year old ate pot and the 26 year-old just laughed about it.
Investigators still aren’t sure how the children were exposed to the drugs.
Reed is charged with felony neglect of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The mother — who is six months pregnant with her third child — could be sentenced to 35 years in prison.
