Busta Rhymes Going After UK Police

Busta Rhymes Going After UK Police

A UK based lawyer is planning to file a complaint against machine-gun toting police officers, who arrested Busta Rhymes last week in the London City airport.

Busta Rhymes’ lawyer Philip Trott was with him on September 25 in the airport, when at least 15 police officers detained Rhymes over his immigration status.

Trott, who traveled with Rhymes from Amsterdam to London to help with any issues, is a partner in the law firm Bates, Wells and Braithwaite.

When Trott and Rhymes arrived in London, five officers with machine guns greeted Rhymes and Trott’s entourage on the runway.

Ten more officers greeted them inside and attempted to send Rhymes back to Amsterdam.

As Rhymes’ counsel, Trott revealed that he was in the precarious position to either back down or risk being “arrested at gunpoint for obstructing a police officer.”

Trott, who also represents Sean “Diddy” Combs, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg, eventually secured Rhymes release.

The rapper allowed to play the Orange RockCorps charity concert, after Justice Julian Flaux granted two injunctions from the High Court.

While immigration officers cited “unresolved
convictions” in the United States as the reason for attempting to deny Rhymes’ entry, Justice Flaux said it was “difficult to see upon what basis” Rhymes was detained and allowed the rapper to perform.

Busta Rhymes Under Fire From Arabs Over Song

Busta Rhymes Under Fire From Arabs Over Song

Rapper Busta Rhymes has hit back at critics of his new song “Arab Money”.  Busta insists that he never set out to  disrespect anyone of Middle Eastern descent.

Busta, real name Trevor Smith, has come under fire for the song’s title with some accusing him of racism. Rhymes has been adamant that he meant no harm in choosing the track’s name and is urging his critics to listen to the lyrics because the song actually champions Arab culture.

“Sometimes, people like to twist things. We ain’t mockin’ the culture. We ain’t tryin’ to be disrespectful. Ain’t no racism going on right here, “If you listen to the song, you see that we are actually acknowledging the fact that the Arabian culture, a middle East culture is one of the few cultures, that value passing down hard work riches that’s been built amongst the family” he said.

He also added “It would be nice if a lot of other cultures did the same thing. Feel me? So, I would like for it to be like that in my culture where we could build things to the point where we got so much that we don’t need to rely on other cultures to contribute majorly in a financial way, or in whatever other way, to societies, communities or whatever governments we might live in. So, we are actually biggin’ up the culture. At the end of the day, I want to be like that. I think a lot of us want to be like that.”

Busta Rhymes Wants Amy Winehouse Collaboration

Busta Rhymes Wants Amy Winehouse Collaboration

Busta Rhymes has been desperately seeking a chance to work with troubled singer Amy Crackhouse Winehouse. The two first met backstage at the Orange RockCorps charity gig on Friday. Winehouse was brought in as a standby to perform in place of the Busta after it was unsure whether he would be allowed into the UK. He was detained at a an airport by British border authorities over his past criminal convictions in the US.

Immigration officials almost forced the Busta to cancel the show, but he was released and allowed to perform after a High Court judge granted him a last minute reprieve.  Before his performance, he hooked up with Winehouse backstage and swapped numbers with the star. The two talked about planning future collaborations but the rap star doubts she will follow through with her promise to call.

“I would love to work with her. I think she is a talented genius of an artist. She won’t pick up the damn phone but that’s OK. I ain’t mad at her” he said.

Maybe somebody should show Busta the video where Winehouse and a friend are making racist statements. Maybe then he’ll understand why she’s not answering his calls. I’m sure if he offered her some YAY she’d work with him.

Update: Busta Rhymes Allowed Into UK

Yesterday we reported that Busta Rhymes was detained when trying to enter England for a charity concert in London. Busta was detained because he supposedly had unresolved convictions in the U.S. He was sentenced to 3 years probation after an incident where he assaulted a fan and his former driver in 2007. He was also orderd to do 10 days of community service, pay a fine and enroll in a drinking-driving program. People with serious criminal convictions such as assault can be denied entry into the UK.

Busta is scheduled to perform at the Orange RockCorps gig at Royal Albert Hall and has a valid work permit for the gig. “I came to the UK to perform for all of the Orange RockCorps volunteers who put in time in their community and that’s what I’m going to do,” he said. “I am here officially in the UK, and thanks to all parties involved hopefully I will be able to put on an incredible show for the kids.”

New Music: Busta Rhymes feat Ron Browz - “Arab Money”

Busta returns with the third single from his new album B.O.M.B. The album was previously titled Blessing but Busta changed it after his recent departure from Interscope Records due to his problems with headman Jimmy Iovine. Busta is now signed to Motown Records and the album is set to be released December 9, 2008. The single features Ron Browz who produced the track. The production is hot with the Arab influence which was overused in the past but has been missing for a while. What do you think ???

Busta Rhymes Refused Entry Into England

Busta Rhymes Refused Entry Into England

Rapper Busta Rhymes was refused entry into Britain on Thursday, according to the promoter of a Busta Rhymes charity concert.

Rhymes, 36, was detained at London City Airport by immigration officers, who said their refusal was based on “unresolved convictions” in the United States, said Stephen Greene of Orange RockCorps.

The performer remained in custody in London while RockCorps took legal steps to try to reverse the decision.

The promoter said Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor George Smith Jr., had been allowed into Britain twice before this year. He was to appear at a concert Friday at London’s mammoth Albert Hall.

U.S. rap star Ludacris has agreed to perform in Rhymes’ place.

On its Web site, RockCorps said even though lawyer Philip Trott presented papers to support the rapper’s case for entry, immigration authorities arranged to fly him back to Amsterdam. The rapper’s lawyers then got an injunction from a High Court judge to prevent him from being sent back.

“He is currently detained, pending a decision on temporary admission by the immigration officer,” the promoter said in a statement.

Busta Rhymes Exits Aftermath Joins Motown

After months of speculation surrounding rapper Busta Rhymes, conformation has finally come that the Brooklyn MC has left Aftermath/Interscope for Motown Universal. The reason for Busta leaving has not been confirmed but rumors are that he had problems with Interscope head man Jimmy Iovine.

Iovine has been under fire in recent months because of the declining sales of popular acts such as 50 Cent, G-Unit and Busta Rhymes. There were rumors that Iovine was on his way out. Interscope issued a release date for Busta’s eigth studio album Blessed for July of this year. The album has been pushed back several times though the label released videos to the singles We Made It and Don’t Touch Me. There is no word on whether Busta will take his work from Blessed with him to Motown or if he will start anew.

New Music: Busta Rhymes - “Packin Them Things”

<br />

Busta Rhymes has had a career that has spanned almost 2 decades and their is no sign that the N.Y. mc will slow down anytime soon. “Packin Them Things” is the new single from Busta’s upcoming release on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label titled “Blessed” due in September. Busta seems to be going old school with all of the cuts that I’ve heard so far. This reminds me of Leaders Of The New School.
