Many, but not all of the Black community have been highly upset about an interview that actress Lindsay Lohan did with Access Hollywood where she refered to Barack Obama as ‘Colored’. Since then, she has been branded a racist. We as Black Americans need to choose very carefully who and what we refer to as racist because it seems to be getting out of hand. Let us first understand what the term racist means. According to most dictionaries, a racist is a person who has a hatred or intolerance for those of other races and/or a feeling that ones race is superior and has the right to rule others. Personally, I hate the term ‘Colored’ almost as much as ‘Nigger’, but her use of the term doesn’t make her a racist. Many non Blacks still use the term but in no way do they mean any disrespect to us. This is coming from a Black male who is a Democrat, very liberal and from a family that was very involved in the Civil Rights struggle.

If you watch the news you can see that Lohan grew up in a dysfunctional family. I can just see her father using the ‘C’ word when refering to Blacks in conversations with the family. Many Whites attend schools where there aren’t any minorities in attendance. This lack of interaction causes  one to be deprived of the chance to learn what is acceptable  and unacceptable when dealing with people from other races or cultures. I transfered to a predominantly White high school so I’ve seen this ignorance first hand. But believe me, it was very easy to distinguish between who was just blind to the facts and who were truly bigots. Let’s not forget that Lohan is a staunch Obama supporter that offered to lend her celebrity to help with his campaign. Let us also not forget that many of us belong to the NAACP. What does that C stand for again ? Yeah I know, it’s a historical organization so it gets a pass. Well, let’s give Lohan a pass on this one because it was more than likely ignorance than racism.

Lindsay Lohan has confirmed what the world has guessed: She’s been dating Samantha Ronson “a very long time.”

The 22-year-old actress casually told the co-host of the syndicated radio program “Loveline” on Monday that she’s been dating the 31-year-old DJ. The pair have appeared in public and been photographed together but have never publicly commented about the extent of their relationship.

“You guys, you and Samantha, have been going out for how long now?” DJ Ted Stryker asked. “Like two years, one year, five months, two months?”

“For a very long time,” Lohan said after laughing.

Stryker interviewed Ronson while she took a break from DJing at TV Guide’s Emmy afterparty Monday night in Los Angeles. Ronson had been discussing her friendship with DJ AM and Travis Barker, who are recovering from severe burns following a plane crash in South Carolina last weekend, before putting Lohan on the phone.

Lohan’s publicist, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, told The Associated Press on Monday that Lohan is not engaged to be married.

There has been much speculation about the true relationship between Lindsay Lohan and “Friend” Samantha Ronson. Thursday evening, September 11, 2008, Lohan and Ronson were partying at Beatrice Inn in NY. Our sources tell us that the two were seen hugging and kissing. The two were overheard by our snoops discussing their plans of traveling to Massachusetts this weekend to exchange vows. Our source is very close to Lohan and is reliable. Stay Tuned.

LINDSAY LOHAN's father MICHAEL has slammed his daughter's rumoured girlfriend
SAMANTHA RONSON - over reports she is to write a tell-all book about her life
with the actress.

 Lohan and Ronson have been close friends for several years and are now said
to be in a relationship and Ronson is reportedly set to reveal intimate details
of her life in a new book.

A source tells Eonline, "She's certainly telling friends she's planning to
write a book. It's supposed to be about her, allegedly. But come on, you know
Lindsay will be all over that book. She's the only one people want to read
about."

And the rumours have infuriated Lohan's father, who claims the DJ is just
using his daughter to get her own slice of fame.

He says, "I've shut up about this long enough. She's using my daughter.
People never even knew who Samantha Ronson was until she met Lindsay. She was
just some Los Angeles DJ. And now she's writing a book? I am at (my) wit's end
with this stuff. This is not in Lindsay's best interest.

"Let's just say I hope Lindsay starts opening her eyes and realises who the
people using her are."

Boy, I never would've guessed that Ronson would right a book about their
relationship (Sarcastically). They just seem like the perfect Hollywood couple
don't they ? They are a couple right?
