Since coming on the scene a few years ago, singer-sonwriter Ne-Yo has been the target of many rumors that he has tried to ignore. The pressure has become to much for the R&B star to take anymore and he took to his blog to express his feelings:

One rule of being a gentleman is to keep your cool and composure at all cost, but right about now I gotta loosen up this tie and take off this expensive suit jacket and talk to the people for a minute. The haters especially.

Pardon my french, but what the fuck is wrong with y’all!?! Are you so desperate for an R&B bad guy that you gotta find a way to create one in me??

Okay, the comment about light skinned babies…….an obvious joke, maybe not a good joke, but clearly a joke. Y’all REALLY took that serious!?!

I understand that a hater’s job is to hate, clearly. But it’s when people start feeding in to what a hater is saying that something must be addressed.

The whole gay thing. For goodness sake it’s been 4 years!!!! Y’all still on that huh?The whole “boys” song, and the song “go over there”. See this is what happens when people steal. These songs were clearly written for women. Had you been patient, you would have heard them the way they were supposed to be heard, with the voice of the intended artist on em’. But noooo, someone gets a hold of these demos and suddenly everybody forgets that I write songs for women. Riiight.

I tell People Magazine that Young Jeezy’s crib is right next to mine and that once I saw him in there from across the way. I then make a JOKE about him maybe not wanting to walk around naked in his crib with the shades up cause the buildings are THAT close to each other, and that AIN’T something I care to see. Suddenly, everybody thinks I said I saw Young Jeezy in his crib naked when, NEVER ONCE did I say anything like that.

I mean come on people. Is this really what you’re gonna spend time on??
Will you not be satisfied until I truly become this asshole you so desperately want me to look like??

Here’s my stand on the whole thing:

I’m NOT gay, I’m NOT prejudice to anyone, I DID NOT get stomped out by Jim Jones or anyone else, I’m NOT engaged, I’M NOT STUPID. And to anyone that INSISTS on thinking that any of these things are true……F**K YOU. To the haters….find some new material please!!! It’s 2009, our president is black!!! Time for change. To everyone else……I love you to death, thanx for all your support. WE PLATINUM ROUND HERE!!!!!

It’s sad how blogs will report anything and tear peoples lives apart. If there isn’t concrete proof, Filthy Rag may report the story with a question mark in the title and we will always state that it is rumor. There are many stories that we have that could destroy some people but we’re not here for that. There needs to be an outlet for Black news and entertainment and that is our purpose.

The dynamic duo first hooked up last year on Fabolous’ hit “Make Me Better”. Ne-Yo returned the favor on his “Year Of The Gentleman” album by requesting Loso’s services for “How I Do’. Another straight radio jawn which seems to be the way to go these days since downloading has basically destroyed album sales. What do you think of the single ?

This is a new single from the R&B singer/songwriter and it isn’t one of the songs from his recently released ‘Year Of The Gentleman” album.

Hit songwriter/singer Ne-Yo is taking his acting career one step further as he’s to star in and executive produce a new film titled Venice Beach.

Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer Smith, made his acting debut in 2006’s Save The Last Dance 2, and went on to land a part in last year’s Stomp The Yard.

But Ne-Yo is now looking to get involved in the movie production side of Hollywood with the release of Venice Beach. The movie, written by Step Up’s Duane Adler, is about an 18-year-old woman who goes in pursuit of her singing dreams after meeting a successful musician, played by Ne-Yo.

In addition to his roles in front of and behind the camera, Ne-Yo will also write the soundtrack to the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

SInger/songwriter Ne-Yo has revealed that his record company tried to pair him with singer Rihanna before she began dating Chris Brown in order to create some controversy.

In a statement to The Sun, Ne-Yo said,

“Just months prior to them dating record companies were trying to put me with Rihanna to build up some controversy” says the “Year of the Gentleman” star.

“They’ve been trying to do it with me for years but I refuse to sell my soul.”

On whether Rihanna and Chris Brown’s relationship is real, however, he says,

“I’ve hung out with them so much that I know that it’s the real deal and they’re in a relationship… “They tear hair out of each other and argue. I’ve seen them kiss and make up like other couples do.”

This statement only adds fuel to the rumors of Ne-Yo’s being gay. Maybe he should’ve kept this info to himself. SMH.

Ne-Yo talks about smacking Yung Berg and Chris Brown’s hygiene.

In a recent interview, singer/songwriter Ne-Yo was asked whether he would be working with Britney Spears on her upcoming album. He responded “No” ! He went on to say that he feels that there is still bad blood on Britney and her management’s side because of a situation that happened while working on Britney’s Blackout album. Ne-Yo had penned several songs for Spears which ended up being recorded by Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger. Ne-Yo had this to say about the disagreement:

“I heard that she was upset with me, and you know, I don’t care,” “We set up multiple sessions where she was supposed to actually come in and give her input on the songs, but she never showed up. OK, she’s goin’ through some things - whatever, fine. This was before the whole shaving of the head thing, but after that happened, her people stopped returnin’ phone calls.” I ain’t heard from her people again and I know she’s back in the studio now, but I would work with her again if she wanted to. Like my door swings both ways. I ain’t got no beef with her, no drama or nothin’ like that, but I’m not about to call them like, ‘Hey, we should get together.’ I’m not about to do that.”

Ne-Yo had written six to eight songs for Britney’s Blackout album. According to Ne-Yo, the singer’s management  never paid him, and Spears even missed multiple recording sessions.

This is the remix to “Miss Independent”. I have to say this is a very nice collaboration and very unique. I also agree with the whole concept of the song. There’s nothing more attractive than a beautiful and independent woman.

It’s sad how vicious some people in this world are. Since coming on the scene, R&B singer Ne-Yo has been bombarded with questions about his sexuality. Why ??? Because the man isn’t covered in tattoos ? Because he isn’t referring to women as bitches and hos (whores) ? A friend of mine asked me last night if I read the issue of Essence magazine where Ne-Yo admits that he is gay. Supposedly there is a man that the singer was in a relationship with for years that has been blackmailing him and Def Jam has been paying the man off. The story goes on to say that Ne-Yo grew tired of the blackmailing and decided to come out of the closet.

This is the most ridiculous $hit that I have ever heard and this is coming from a woman who graduated at the top of her high school class with a 4.6 GPA. I asked her where she heard this and she got the info from a girl that actually worked on a music video with Ne-Yo.  The girl received a mass email that had the bogus story in it. The problem is, when she told my friend the story she claimed that she was reading from the actual magazine. On a telephone call that my friend made to her in my presence, she admitted that she was reading supposed quotes from Essence that were in the email. There is no damn issue of Essence with Ne-Yo talking about any of this. If there were, I’m sure we all would have a copy. The name of his new album is the “Year Of The Gentleman”. The album contains a song titled “Ms. Independent” which is a tribute to his mother and the kind of woman that he wants.
