An arraignment date was set Wednesday for R & B singer R. Kelly’s teenage nephew, who allegedly tried to rob a barbershop but was shot by the owner last month.

Brayel Kelly, 16, will be arraigned on three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and one count each of aggravated discharge of a firearm and attempted armed robbery on Dec. 23, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton said.

In a hearing Wednesday in Cook County Circuit Court in Markham, Judge Reginald Baker set bond for Brayel Kelly, of Calumet City, at $200,000, according to state’s attorney’s office spokesman Andy Conklin.

Kelly was charged as an adult Nov. 20 in the Nov. 6 attempted armed robbery at Marvelous Cuts Barber Shop in Calumet City.

Kelly allegedly came into the barbershop for a haircut and afterward pulled a gun and demanded the victim’s jewelry and money. Kelly allegedly told the victim — reportedly the shop owner — to place the items in a plastic bag, and the victim complied, police said.

As the victim handed Kelly the bag, the victim grabbed his own weapon, but the suspect fired at him. The victim then shot at the suspect, who fled north on Burnham Avenue. The victim told police he believed he shot the suspect.

As officers were responding to the robbery, they also received reports of a person shot, and they found Kelly suffering from a gunshot wound in the back at 524 155th Place in Calumet City.

Brayel is the son of R. Kelly’s estranged brother Carey Kelly.

So since Carey wouldn’t go along with R. Kelly’s bull$hit defense theory that he was the one in the child porn vid and not Robert, his son is resorting to robbing people. SMH.

R Kelly’s teenage nephew has been shot - after reportedly attempting to rob a barbershop in Chicago, Illinois.

Brandon Kelly, the 15-year-old son of the R&B hitmaker’s brother Carey Kelly, was taken to a local hospital late on Thursday night with chest injuries after being shot twice by the shop owner.

Police believe the boy was up to no good - but his dad is convinced Brandon is the innocent victim in this situation, and could have just gotten caught up in someone else’s crime, reports TMZ.

According to Fox News’ Chicago affiliate, Brandon has now been taken into police custody in connection to the attempted robbery.

R. Kelly’s brother, Kerry Kelly, claims that his son was actually the victim. Kerry is maintaining that he and his son face constant robbry attempts because people believe that they have money but they don’t. He states “That’s R. Kelly’s money”. The brothers have been estranged for years but their relationship came to a complete end when lawyers for R. Kelly claimed that Kerry was the person having sex with the female in the video that landed R. Kelly in jail.

Singer R. Kelly has won an award of $3.4m from his former tour promoter over unpaid fees.Kelly’s company, R. Kelly Touring, filed papers in a LA court asking a judge to confirm the award that was granted by an arbitrator last month. The arbitrator agreed with Kelly’s claims that Leonard Rowe had not paid him in full for shows in 2007 and 2008.

Last month, singer Ne-Yo won damages of $700,320 from the firm after he was dropped from the same tour. Documents show that, after the arbitrator agreed with Mr Kelly’s claims about Rowe Entertainment, Mr Rowe had disputed the decision but had then failed to offer any defense.

Kelly is now asking a judge in LA for help in collecting the award, which remains unpaid. Ne-Yo sued Rowe Entertainment in January claiming he was fired as Kelly’s opening act last November because fans and critics preferred him which is an allegation Kelly has denied.

Once again, the company did not respond to the case and in September then a LA Superior Court judge ordered Rowe to pay Ne-Yo and his touring company damages. Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith, left the tour after one week.

It’s hard sometimes to listen to Kelly’s music after all of the accusations of his inappropriate behavior towards underage girls. Songs like Butterfly reminds us of the musical genius which is R. Kelly. After that interview I have serious doubts about him but I hope that he is getting some type of help.

The self proclaimed King Of R&B, R. Kelly, spoke about being arrested for child pornography charges for the first time last night on BET. The interview was done by BET correspondent Toure. This is an excerpt from the interview and it’s hilarious:

Toure: “There is something that millions of Americans are wondering about you, do you like teenage girls? ”

Kelly:  “When you say teenage how old are we talking ?”

Toure: “Girls who are teenagers.”

Kelly: “19 ?”

Toure: “19 and younger.”

Kelly: “I have some 19 year old friends but I don’t like anybody illegal if that’s what we’re talking about, under age.”

This guy made himself look like an idiot. Dont get me wrong, I know plenty of 40 year old guys that date young women, but they aren’t R. Kelly and they didn’t just go through 7 years of criminal proceedings surrounding child pornography in the public eye. DAMN KELLS !!! SOME PEOPLE NEVER LEARN !!!

R&B star R. KELLY has denied involvement in an alleged $130,000 tour ticket scam.
The singer has been accused of profiting from a fraud in South Africa after a
local woman, Busiswe Zakwe, was arrested on suspicion of swindling investors.
It is claimed she promised them they would benefit from ticket sales if they
brought an R. Kelly tour to the country in 2005.

  The concerts never happened - but Zakwe allegedly kept the money and
deposited some of it into the star's bank account.But the singer denies any
knowledge of the incident - and insists he doesn't even know who Zakwe is.

  A spokesman for the star says, "There is absolutely no truth to the reports
that R. Kelly received money from a South African woman accused of swindling
investors by convincing them to invest in a non-existent R. Kelly tour in
2005.

  "Mr. Kelly has no knowledge of this woman, has never received any money from
her, and has not been contacted by any law enforcement authorities regarding
the matter. He will, of course, cooperate fully with any legitimate
investigation of this matter, since he has nothing to hide."

This is another single from R. Kelly’s “12 Play Fourth Quarter” due this fall. The song is called “Screamer” and it reminds me of that Prince Purple Rain sound.

Many people probably don’t know that R. Kelly wrote “More and More” which was one of R&B singer Joe’s biggest hits. Kelly also recorded the song on the highly bootlegged album “Loveland”. After 11 years on Jive Records and six albums, Joe decided earlier this year to bounce and give the independent route a try because Jive was not supporting his projects.

It wasn’t until after he left the label that Joe says he found out what was behind his perceived stalled progress. He says his own label mate, R. Kelly, put pressure on Jive execs and radio stations to fall back on promoting his records when the singles appeared to be getting too much attention.

“R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio,” Joe told EUR’s Lee Bailey Tuesday. “He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, ‘Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Yall need to pull that back.’ And they would oblige.”

Joe says there were a lot of shady things that went down at Jive and he’s happy to finally be able to vent his frustrations freely, now that he’s off the label. “It’s incredible that now I get the opportunity to, I don’t know, maybe pay [R. Kelly] back in some sort of side bar kind of thing.”

The 35-year-old Columbus, GA native said R-ruh did not succeed in sabotaging his career, which includes seven Grammy Award nominations, three gold albums and two platinum discs.

“I’m still very relevant in the game. But yeah, he did try to make some decisions when it came down to my records being on fire, and climbing up the charts and on the radio stations,” Joe said of Kelly. “He felt like they should pull back because he felt he was more important. And with their loyalty to him, they obliged.”

Joe says he didn’t find out about all of this until after he left Jive six months ago. His exit, instead, had to do with his belief that it was “just time to do my own thing.”

The artist is releasing his upcoming album, “New Man,” on Sept 22 - via Kedar Entertainment Group - headed by his manager and former Motown president Kedar Massenburg, with Joe and Chico Debarge as full partners. Distribution will be handled by Universal Music Group’s Fontana Distribution.
