Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury Character Will Be Busy

Actor Samuel L Jackson is preparing for a busy 2009 - he’s aiming to feature in a whole host of movie comics after he was revealed as comic superspy Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man.

The Pulp Fiction star will play a key part in the sequel to this summer’s Marvel blockbuster - but he’s also hoping his character will appear in the forthcoming big-screen adaptations of Captain America, Thor and The Avengers.

He tells MTV, “Should be some little piece of all of that. I should kinda pass through Iron Man 2, Captain America, Thor - all those things - and eventually get to that Avengers space, yeah.

“They sorta gave me a master plan about how they want it to work… (But) I’ll do every movie they wanna do. I’m down.”

Samuel L. Jackson To Star In Remake Of “The Last Dragon”

We already know Samuel L. Jackson is a bad motherf—–. But who knew he possessed the power of the glow?

The Pulp Fiction star has signed on to play baddie Sho’nuff in a remake of Berry Gordy’s 1985 cult classic, The Last Dragon, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The plot focuses on a Bruce Lee-obsessed martial-arts student who masters the power of “the glow” and faces off with the neighborhood heavy.

As originally played by the late Julius Carry, Sho’nuff, aka the Shogun of Harlem, goes around shouting, “Am I the baddest mofo lowdown around this town?” To which his henchmen reply: “Sho’nuff!”

Samuel L. Jackson To Star In “Afro Samurai”

Samuel L Jackson is confident his plans to turn animated TV hit Afro Samurai into a live action film will bring him another big movie hit because the project has been blessed by real Samurai historians.

The Pulp Fiction star met with anime experts in Tokyo, Japan to discuss the project and came away feeling sure the film would be a big success thanks to an ancient ceremony, for which he had to dress like a warrior.

He tells WENN, “We had a big ceremony where we blessed the project. We all dressed as Samurai and went to a traditional wooden structure where even the nails were wood.

“We went over in rickshaws and it was a big deal. They had the oldest Geisha women in Japan perform that night. They actually gave me two swords which I have at home for good luck.”

Samuel L. Jackson To Be Honored By Cinematheque

Actor Samuel L. Jackson, of Pulp Fiction fame, will receive his award in December.  The honor has been given to  Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Al Pacino in recent years. Some of Jackson’s many films include George Lucas’s three Star Wars prequels, Shaft, Coach Carter, Rules Of Engagement and Jumper.

Jackson will turn an unbelievable 60 years old in December. Presently he is enjoying more box office success with the release of Lakeview Terrace. Jackson portrays a prejudiced LA police officer who harasses his neighbors that are an interacial couple.

“Samuel L Jackson is a professional’s movie star,” said Rick Nicita, chair of the American Cinematheque board. “The obvious talent and commitment that he brings to each role has resulted in what is arguably the highest total box office gross of any actor in movie history,” continued Nicita.

The American Cinematheque has been honouring actors, directors and writers since its inception in 1986. The non-profit organisation, which owns and operates two historic cinemas in Los Angeles, uses the event to raise money to support aspiring film-makers.

Movie-goers welcomed Samuel L. Jackson to the neighborhood, lifting his thriller “Lakeview Terrace” to the top spot at the weekend box office with $15.6 million in sales, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Jackson’s tale about a cop terrorizing his new neighbors, released by Sony’s Screen Gems banner, led a rush of new wide releases that generally did only so-so business.

“Obviously, as compared to like the summer season, the bar has definitely been lowered in terms of what movies are making,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers. “This definitely is a slowdown period, as is typical for this post-summer malaise we always seem to run up against.”

1. “Lakeview Terrace,” $15.6 million.

2. “Burn After Reading,” $11.3 million.

3. “My Best Friend’s Girl,” $8.3 million.

4. “Igor,” $8 million.

5. “Righteous Kill,” $7.7 million.

6. “Tyler Perry’s the Family That Preys,” $7.5 million.

7. “The Women,” $5.3 million.

8. “Ghost Town,” $5.2 million.

9. “The Dark Knight,” $3 million.

10. “The House Bunny,” $2.8 million.

Samuel L. Jackson Stars In Thriller “Lakeview Terrace”

In the film Lakeview Terrace, a young interracial couple portrayed by Chris Mattson (Patrick Wilson) and Lisa Mattson (Kerry Washington) have just moved into their California dream home when they become the target of their next-door neighbor, who disapproves of their interracial relationship. A stern, single father, this tightly wound LAPD officer Abel Turner (Samuel L. Jackson) has appointed himself the watchdog of the neighborhood. His nightly foot patrols and overly watchful eyes bring comfort to some, but he becomes increasingly harassing to the newlyweds. These persistent intrusions into their lives ultimately take a turn for the worse when the couple decides to fight back.

I wonder if Kerry Washington ever faced any problems when she dated her ex whom was a white male ? She’s a great actress anyway and if she had personal experience to draw from I’m sure it will make her performance even better.
