Filmmaker Spike Lee has left his Hollywood talent agent of more than 15 years in the wake of the dismal box office performance of his latest movie.
The combative Morehouse graduate jumped to Endeavor from William Morris, three weeks after his World War Two movie “Miracle at St. Anna” opened to just $3.5 million; the Disney release has grossed just $7.5 million to date.
Before “Anna,” Lee directed his largest-grossing film to date, the heist thriller “Inside Man,” which drew $176 million worldwide in 2006. A sequel is one of several upcoming projects set up by William Morris. Lee did not respond to a request for comment.

Moviemaker Spike Lee’s plans of turning Kanye West into a film star have hit a snag - no one wants to fund the film.
The director has penned what he thinks is “a very good script” for the sequel of his 1988 movie School Daze - and he wants West to star in the film with Alicia Keys.
But no one likes the idea.
He says, “The film takes place at the same college but 25 years later, but the powers that be didn’t want to tell that story. It was gonna have Kanye in it and Alicia Keys.”
The original School Daze starred Laurence Fishburne, Giancarlo Esposito and Tisha Campbell-Martin.
Alicia Keys’ video for “Teenage Love Affair” was taken from “School Daze” and I wondered after seeing it would Lee do a sequel. I think that the film would be good but I’m not sure about Kanye. At least not in the lead role.

Hollywood filmmaker SPIKE LEE has hit out at REVEREND JESSE JACKSON - one month
after the U.S. civil rights activist was caught insulting presidential
candidate BARACK OBAMA on TV.
Jackson was forced to apologize to Obama last month (09Jul08) after he was
overheard accusing the politician of talking "down" to the black community and
stating that he wanted to "cut his (Obama's) nuts off".
Lee insists he "respectfully disagrees" with Jackson, leaping to the defense
of Obama as he joins a legion of A-listers who have flocked to Denver, Colorado
to attend this week's (beg25Aug08) Democratic National Convention.
He tells the New York Daily News: "First, I go by the 'one-drop rule'. One
drop (of black blood), and you're black. The truth is, every African-American
is bi-racial. Go back far enough, and you'll find the massah was in the slave
quarters.
"You can't be black and go to Harvard Law School? You can't be black and be
articulate? The stereotype is that all black men are angry - that if he's not
angry, he's not passionate. I don't believe that."
