It’s so ironic that in the same city and on the same day, Big Suge gets his charges tossed and O.J. is about to ride for 16 years:

The battery and drug charges against Marion Suge Knight have been dismissed. The charges that stemmed from an alleged altercation with Knight’s girlfriend in Las Vegas were dropped because of a “lack of production in discovery and the failure of witnesses to be subpoenaed”.

The Las Vegas judge told prosecution they could have gone forward with their case without any witnesses but they instead chose to dismiss the charges. TMZ is reporting the alleged victim (Knight’s ex girlfriend), was in court and the judge told the prosecution could re-file the case.

Knight said “God is good, and I’ve got the best two lawyers in America. Happy holidays” but it might not be totally a happy season as the prosecution now has decided to take the case to a grand jury. “The grand jury will consider evidence in regard to Mr. Knight, and we are looking forward to it” Mr. Chesnoff said.

Witnesses couldn’t be subpoenaed my a$$. Those fools heard Suge’s name and started running like those fools in the movie “Friday” when D-Bo came around. O.J. should’ve hired Suge to do an ‘Eazy E’ on those fools that turned on him. (For those of you who don’t know, Suge supposedly beat Eazy E with a pipe until he agreed to release Dr. Dre from his recording contract with Ruthless Records).

Has been Hip-hop mogul Suge Knight has been slapped with multiple charges in the August beating of his former girlfriend in Las Vegas, TMZ.com reported Sunday.

Knight, 43, faces two felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and one count of misdeameanor battery after the Aug. 27 attack in Sin City, the gossip Web site reported.

Knight, the founder of Death Row records, began fighting with his girlfriend of three years, Melissa Isaac, as they drove away from a strip club, cops say.

Isaac jerked the wheel after Knight punched her, causing the Cadillcac Escalade to hit a curb, cops say.

Isaac jumped out of the SUV and tried to run away but was chased down by the 6-foot-4 Knight.

Responding cops spotted Knight wielding a knife as he kicked Isaac in the head, police say.

Knight was in possession of the drugs Ecstasy and hydrocodone, police said.

It wasn’t Knight’s first run-in with cops. He has served prison time on assault charges in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Someone needs to find that barber who knocked Suge the f*%@ out so that we can see a repeat. Suge claims it was a sucker punch but whatever.

Times are tough for Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight. The once high-flying gangsta-rap impresario recently filed for bankruptcy, and this summer, he had to sit idly by while his company’s assets were sold at auction.

Now, TMZ is reporting that as part of his October 30 bankruptcy filing, Knight is blaming Kanye West for the loss of a beloved 15-carat diamond stud earring that was stolen from him three years ago. According to a lawsuit filed by Knight against West and some of his partners on September 12, the label boss blames ‘Ye for allowing someone to smuggle a gun past security at the rapper’s 2005 pre-VMA party in Miami, the same party where some unknown person shot Knight in the leg.

“It was reasonably foreseeable to defendants that the party would present a dangerous environment with the possibility of weapons (including firearms) being used by or against party guests given the well-known feuds that have at times pitched East Coast rap and hip-hop stars against West Coast rap and hip-hop stars, some of whom would be attending the party with their associates,” the suit reads, adding that “certain hip-hop artists who were invited to the party … were known not to be friendly to Mr. Knight.”

During the scuffle, Knight - who says he attended the party with a “false sense of security” - claims someone shot him in the upper right leg, shattering his bone and requiring surgery, months of physical therapy and continued mental pain and suffering and loss of income. He also says that he lost a $135,000 diamond stud earring, which was retrieved by someone who identified himself as an employee, and who assured Knight the earring would be returned, though it was not. Knight believes the person worked for West or one of the other defendants in the suit.

Knight requests that the earring either be returned or replaced, as he has been “deprived of the use and enjoyment of the earring” since the August 2005 incident.

A spokesperson for West could not be reached for comment at press time.

Suge Knight allegedly won’t ante up. Global Music Group, the small imprint that bought Death Row Records at an auction earlier this year, is probing the possibility that Knight and an accomplice could have stashed part of Death Row’s storied catalog to exclude the material from the sale.

Global’s attorney, Michael J. Collesano, says he was approached by a woman contending to be a former girlfriend of Carl “Butch” Small,” Knight’s accomplice. Collesano asserts Small formerly served as one of the label’s top heads. The woman, whose identity was only revealed in court, claims Small told her he hid master recordings, videos and other Death Row assets from the Pacific Coast Title Archives between 2001 and 2005. The items weren’t included with other assets bought by Global Music Group.

The woman told Detroit authorities about the items after allegedly being attacked by Small earlier this month (10/1). The woman filed an order of protection against Small the following day and lead Livingston County Sheriff Deputy Christopher Schmidt to a storage unit in Burlington, Michigan. Schmidt seized black boxes he believes contain master recordings and music videos. The woman also said she possibly has additional Death Row items and plans to turn them into the authorities.

“Global Music Group of Delaware has arranged financing to acquire the assets and stands ready to acquire the record label once the Trustee identifies the inventory to a certainty,” Collesano said in a statement. “We cannot see how anyone can bid on the assets with such a cloud surrounding the property being sold. In fact, on September 19, 2008, we submitted a bid that we hope the trustee will consider at this time, but our purchase will require proper due diligence.”

The woman also told Collesano she was contacted by Knight’s girlfriend and attorney Tammy and that she feared for her life. In related news, Suge recently poked fun at a woman he allegedly assaulted and left naked on the side of the road. The woman, who is suspected to be his girlfriend Tammy, has since disappeared. Per TMZ, The Las Vegas Police Department attempted to conduct a second interview with the woman only to find out that her whereabouts are now unknown.

Knight showed little concerned when queried about his missing girlfriend. “Fuck my girlfriend,” Knight told a TMZ cameraman. “Fuck it! She’s probably with your daddy.”

Fallen rap mogul MARION `SUGE' KNIGHT has posted bail after he was
arrested in Las Vegas on assault and domestic violence charges.

The former Death Row Records boss was detained early on Wednesday morning
(27Aug08) after leaving a strip club, for allegedly attacking his girlfriend of
three years in a parking lot and brandishing a knife.

The incident is said to have followed an argument in their car. The unnamed
woman was treated at a nearby hospital, but her injuries are not thought to be
life-threatening.

 Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Chris Carroll says, "A citizen sees the beating
in a parking lot, police get there fast, they see him beating her. It's a good
solid case.

"This is a very large man. He was on top of her, actually in the act of
violently beating her when the officers arrived, with the knife in his hand."

 Knight was booked into the Clark County jail on felony charges of assault
with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanour
charges of domestic violence and possession of dangerous drugs without a
prescription.

 He later posted $19,000 (£10,555) bail and was scheduled to be released late
on Wednesday (27Aug08) night. He is due to attend a hearing at Las Vegas
Justice Court on 26 September (08).

Mediatechnics Corporation has signed a letter of intent to purchase Global Music Group - New York (GMG-NY), the company that won the bid to acquire the assets of Death Row Records in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in June of this year for $24 million. Mediatechnics intends to provide Global Music with the funds needed to complete the acquisition.

The landmark deal would give Mediatechnics Corp. ownership of Global Music Group, which will hold upon completion of the purchase — free and clear of all liens, claims and encumbrances — all of the assets that comprise Death Row Records, including Death Row’s catalog of master recordings and published music, as well as all trademarks and other intellectual property, licenses, artist and writer agreements, works in progress, and options. An independent valuation of the bankruptcy estate completed last month placed the catalog value at $32 million.

The Death Row catalog includes a significant amount of previously unreleased material by the late Tupac “2Pac” Shakur and other top artists, as well as almost all of the previously released music of Dr. Dre and 2Pac. The 2Pac music has spawned great interest with the media since the possibility of its imminent release became news.

Founded in 1991 by Marion “Suge” Knight and Dr. Dre, Death Row Records established itself as one of the biggest labels at the forefront of the ’90s gangsta rap music era, and, for all intents and purposes, defined the genre. The label was home to such artists as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound as well as 2Pac.

By the early 2000s, Death Row was besieged with several crippling lawsuits and criminal convictions for founder Suge Knight. In April of 2006, Knight sought bankruptcy protection for himself and the label. On June 24 of this year, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California approved the sale of Death Row to Global Music Group - New York for $24 million, and Global Music placed a deposit with the court.

Mediatechnics President Richard Wilson said, “The acquisition of Global Music and Death Row Records will represent a landmark turning point for our company. Together with our subsidiaries, the Live Network and CRD Technologies, the prospects of co-branding, licensing and new product development are astounding.” He continued, “We’re driving hard to lock in all of the complicated pieces of this puzzle necessary to successfully conclude this remarkable deal.”

Susan Berg, President of Global Music Group - NY, said, “We are delighted by the prospects that this imminent transaction could bring to our two companies and believe the outcome, both financially and creatively, can be an incredible force.” Berg qualified Global Music Group as a bidder with the Federal Bankruptcy Court prior to the auction in June, putting up more than one million dollars on deposit.

Mediatechnics’ transaction remains contingent upon several factors, not the least of which is the closing of the financing and the subsequent payment to, and acceptance by, the Bankruptcy Court and its trustee. While many factors outside the control of Mediatechnics could yet affect whether or not the transaction is completed, the company is currently in possession of a Letter of Intent from a lender to fund the transaction, and has been informed by GMG-NY that it is likely that the purchase will be accepted when funds are proven and delivered.

The sale of MARION 'SUGE' KNIGHT's Death Row Records has been put on
hold - after the potential new owners failed to pay the remaining $22 million.
The label was the home of multi-platinum recording artists such as Dr. Dre,
Snoop Dogg, The Dogg Pound and the late Tupac Shakur. Death Row ruled the Hip-
Hop genre in the early 90's with releases such as the classic albums "The Chronic",
"Doggy Style" and "All Eyes On Me".

Susan Berg's New York-incorporated Global Music Group Inc. purchased the
failing firm at auction in June (08) - seeing off competition from music
industry heavyweights Warner Music Group to pick up the company Knight founded
in 1991.

But in court documents filed in New York on Friday (22Aug08), it emerged
Global Music Group Inc. has not paid the full amount for the company.
Global Music's bankruptcy lawyer Kathleen March insists the two companies
continue to negotiate the sale, blaming the delay on recent press reports that
they made the purchase unlawfully.

Global Music bosses claim they will close the transaction within a few weeks
with help from an unnamed publicly traded company to fund the $22 million
it still owes for Death Row, reports the New York Post.

Knight and Death Row filed for bankruptcy in April 2006, listing $137 million
in debt and just $4.4 million in assets.
