Many celebs have found it difficult when trying to push their own brand:
Catwalk beauty Tyra Banks is refusing to lend her name to her own range of products, because there are too many celebrities trying to win a piece of the lifestyle market.
The supermodel-turned-talkshow host admits she is always being approached to launch her brand name.
But she has no plans to follow the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey or Beyonce Knowles, who are among a host of stars to have their own fashion, perfume and beauty deals - no matter how lucrative the offer.
She tells Ebony magazine, “I don’t just want to throw my name on stuff like that.
“Oh, my God, I’ve had the opportunity. And I could have retired off of doing that type of stuff. I just feel that the marketplace for celebrities throwing their names on things is oversaturated.”
No matter how big of a star you may be, sometimes people just don’t want to wear your clothing or perfume. People are very strange sometimes. With all of the Beyonce stans all over the world, House Of Dereon should be a smash.

More stacks for Moon Mullin:
Tyra Banks is shrinking her syndicate.
The supermodel turned TV multihyphenate’s Daytime Emmy-winning talk show will be taken out of syndication and moved to the CW for its fifth season, slated to premiere in September 2009.
Despite some cartoons and syndicated sitcoms (yay, endless Friends reruns!), the CW isn’t really a daytime-programming destination, something that Banks-who already rules the network’s prime-time schedule with the top-rated America’s Next Top Model-is obviously looking to change.
“I’m thrilled to have The Tyra Banks Show join the CW, where I already have an amazing partnership and where my audience knows to look for me,” Banks said in a statement Friday. “With Top Model in prime-time and The Tyra Banks Show in daytime, it’s a match made in heaven.”
The cover girl’s chatfest won a Daytime Emmy earlier this year for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative, while Banks landed on Time magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People in 2006 and 2007.
And whether or not you want to follow her lead, plenty don’t mind watching her sit in judgment of others-Wednesday’s crowning of McKey Sullivan as America’s Next Top Model attracted 4.8 million viewers, the show’s largest audience in a year.
Tyra Banks is definitely raking in those stacks. Whoever hooks up with her is going to be one lucky man.

With election day just three days away, Tyra Banks is throwing her support behind Democratic Sen. Barack Obama.
“Throughout this historic presidential campaign, I have been inspired by Senator Barack Obama and his message of change,” the talk-show host said in a statement. “I believe he will uplift all Americans during these critical times. I will be voting for Obama because I feel America is not only ready for this change, we are in need of it.”
In September, Tyra was featured in Harper’s Bazaar posing as Michelle Obama with a Barack look-a-like in the Oval Office.
Wow. Thanks so much Tyra. Thank You for endorsing Barack all of 3 days before the election. I’m sure your legion of fans will run to vote for him now since you’re such an expert on politics. LOL !!!

America ’s Next Top Model’s Tyra Banks, tops Forbes Prime Time TV’s 20 Top Earning Women with $23 million during the year-long period, thanks to her work both in front of and behind the camera.
In addition to her eponymous–and highly successful–daytime talk show, the model-turned-mogul has scored legions of fans and lofty paychecks as a producer and judge on the CW’s hit reality competition series.
Last fall, Banks also signed a multi-year deal with Warner Bros. to develop still more projects for the big and small screens. Among her upcoming ventures: Stylista, a CW reality show set in the magazine world, and a direct-to-DVD series based on the best-selling Clique series of books for teens.
Damn Tyra is stacking that paper, but with all of that money it’s a shame that in 2007 she held her staff’s Christmas party at a bar and served McDonalds. And buy the way, they didnt get any Christmas bonuses. SMH.
